Agitated over the Supreme Court’s ruling in rejecting the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh Government on the issue of Free Zone, the Opposition, Telugu Desam Party, Communist Party of India PI, CPI(M) and Bharatiya Janata Party moved adjournment motions in the Assembly on Wednesday, pressing for setting aside of the listed business and taking up of a discussion on this important issue.
The House was adjourned for over 15 minutes as the TDP stalled the proceedings demanding an amendment to the Constitution to circumvent Supreme Court ruling treating Hyderabad as 'free zone' on the matters of employment.
In response Speaker N Kirankumar Reddy turned down the adjournment motions.
