Mani Ratnam Next Multi Starrer Features Nani And Dhanush

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming two hero film has reportedly taken an unexpected turn in its casting. While earlier reports suggested that Suriya would share the screen with Dhanush, the latest buzz points to Nani in Suriya place. If the reports are true, the project will bring together two popular South Indian stars for the first time under Mani Ratnam’s direction.
The filmmaker has reportedly been developing this multi starrer script for some time, with Dhanush already being considered for one of the lead roles. Suriya was initially linked to the project, but Nani’s name has now emerged as the latest addition. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement about the complete cast or production details.
For Nani, the reported opportunity would be particularly special, as he has often expressed his admiration for Mani Ratnam and his filmmaking style. Sharing screen space with Dhanush under the veteran director could give Nani an interesting opportunity to reach a wider audience. Nani dubbed for Dulquer in Telugu for Mani Ratnam's 'Ok Bangaram' earlier.
Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam is currently busy with Inji Vellam, featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi. The romantic drama has music by A.R. Rahman and is targeting a January 2027 release. With the film's release approaching, attention has also turned towards the director's next project. The proposed multi starrer is yet to receive official confirmation.
