Today we celebrate the birthday of legendary director K Raghavendra Rao. Fans call him Darsakendrudu for his huge body of work across many types of films. For over 50 years he has given Telugu cinema some of its most loved blockbusters. His name stands for grand songs, colorful visuals, and stories that connect with every age group. We wish him good health, joy, and many more happy years.

Master Of Two Very Different Styles

K Raghavendra Rao set two big marks in modern cinema. He showed heroines in a very glamorous way but never crossed into vulgar. At the same time, he made devotional films that even the young generation loved to watch. This rare balance made him special. From folk tales to fantasy to family dramas, he handled every genre with ease. He worked with stars from senior NTR to Jr NTR and gave hits in every decade.

A Career Full Of 100 Films And Memories

His career has more than 100 films in over 50 years. He gave social films like Jyothi and Aame Katha. In fantasy he gave classics like Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and Sahasa Veerudu Sagara Kanya. Simha Baludu became a favorite in the folklore space. For devotional films, Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu are landmarks. These movies had great music, strong emotions, and rich sets. They are still watched and loved today.

Blockbusters With NTR And Chiranjeevi

KRR made many big hits with senior NTR. Adavi Ramudu is called the guidebook for commercial films. Vetagadu, Simha Baludu, Kondaveeti Simham, Justice Chowdary, and Major Chandrakanth are all landmark films in their team. He also gave many hits with Chiranjeevi. Gharana Mogudu was the first Telugu film to collect more than 10 crore. That record showed his power at the box office. His films always had strong songs, dance, and family feeling.

Gave SS Rajamouli To Indian Cinema

K Raghavendra Rao also helped new talent grow. He started RK Teleshow for TV serials and introduced SS Rajamouli as a director with Shanti Nivasam on ETV. Later he produced Student No 1 and launched Rajamouli in films with Jr NTR. He also guided the film as direction supervisor. Now he runs KRR Works and makes short films to support new directors. He recently produced the film Sarakari Noukari.
