Sashikala Becomes Chief Minister!

The late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha's close aide, Sashikala is all set to take over charges as the new CM of Tamil Nadu. A crucial meet of Legislative members of AIADMK was held this afternoon at Poes Garden.

Sashikala has been elected the floor leader unanimously by the MLAs. Incidentally, CM Panneerselvam, himself, proposed the name of Sashikala as a Chief Minister. Furthermore, he tendered his resignation. 

On the other hand, AIADMK leaders sought the governor's appointment so as to get Sashikala elected as a Chief Minister. Sashikala is said to be the right successor of Jayalalitha to hold the command over the party and to strengthen it. As we know, Sashikala, herself, performed the last rites of Jayalalitha breaking the conventions. She was elected the general secretary of AIADMK on December 31. 

Given this significant political development in TN state, BJP's hopes of making use of the political vacuum have been shattered. Besides, opposition political parties like DMK and Kollywood Superstar Rajinikanth who is aspiring to enter politics, might have been shocked with the deadly blow of AIADMK.
