PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana criticised former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for announcing to launch a new party.
Speaking to media persons after holding a meeting with the leaders from Telangana region at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday evening, Botsa alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy was an "opportunist" and not serious about Samaikhyandhra. He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy should have resigned from his post immediately after the Congress Working Committee took a decision to support the bifurcation of the State. He questioned Kiran's continuance on the post till the passing of Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha.
Botsa also condemned former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari for her decision to join the BJP. Stating that Purandeswari had resigned from the Congress party in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, he asked her to explain the logic behind joining the BJP which openly supported formation of Telangana. He said these leaders were just trying to defame the Congress party for their own political gains.
Regarding his meeting with Telangana leaders, Botsa said that future strategy and the issues concerning the people of Telangana were discussed.
