Ramayana: Part 1 has arrived in theatres with huge expectations, carrying the scale of one of the most ambitious Indian films ever made. The epic has received a U certificate from the censor board, with a runtime of 195 minutes (3 hours 15 minutes), making it a lengthy theatrical experience for audiences.

The film's official storyline follows Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who goes into exile with Sita and Lakshmana after his father's promise. Their journey takes a tragic turn when Ravana abducts Sita, leading to a massive battle between good and evil. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Sai Pallavi appears as Sita, and Yash takes on the role of Ravana.

Ramayana is reportedly made on a massive budget of ₹1,300 crore to ₹1,400 crore, making it one of the costliest Indian productions ever. According to trade estimates, the film needs around ₹2,000 crore in worldwide gross collections to reach its break even target. The reported theatrical recovery expectations stand at approximately ₹1,500 crore from India and ₹600 crore from overseas markets.

The film has crossed ₹100 crore in worldwide opening day advance bookings, including around ₹60 crore from India and ₹40 crore from overseas. Day 1 worldwide gross estimates are in the ₹140 crore to ₹150 crore range, while the Diwali holiday period could help collections grow further if audience feedback remains positive. With such a huge investment, the real box office test will begin after the opening day.
