Regina Cassandra Questions Karan Johar

Regina Cassandra has reacted to the ongoing debate over the treatment of actresses in the Telugu film industry. The discussion gained attention after Janhvi Kapoor spoke about the Peddi controversy on Koffee With Karan, while Radhika Apte also shared her past experiences in Telugu cinema. Regina welcomed actresses speaking up but felt the issue should not turn into a North - South industry debate.
In an interview, Regina said every actor has the right to question a scene or character portrayal that makes them uncomfortable. She believes actresses should not feel pressured to accept everything just because they are part of a project. According to her, artists must have the freedom to express their concerns and stand by their personal boundaries.
Regina also recalled her experience with Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2, in which she played the actor's wife. She expressed disappointment with the film's promotional campaign, alleging that Karan Johar and Dharma Productions did not give her proper visibility. She particularly pointed out that the production house shared a song featuring her without tagging her on Instagram.
The actress questioned why she was left out of the promotional posts despite being part of the film. She also wondered whether such treatment could be considered discrimination. Regina's comments have added another perspective to the discussion about actresses receiving recognition and equal visibility in the film industry, beyond the ongoing North - South debate.
