Taking strong objection to the TRS leader KT Rama Rao’s letter which has a strong accent on defaming YSR and bringing to fore the dynasty question, Ysr Congress has said, TRS is scared of losing much of its ground with the tremendous response Sharmila’s Maro Praja Prasthanam is getting.

“Despite contesting with electoral tie-up with other parties in 2009, Congress, under the leadership of YSR, has won over 50 seats and KTR’s letter is only to keep TRS flock together as the popularity of YSR has been reflecting in the response to Sharmila’s padayatra,” Party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here on Saturday.

TRS is not the sole crusader of Telangana cause as its presence is limited. It has a presence only in 30 of the 120 assembly constituencies of the region. TDP and Congress had also resorted to personal criticism on YSR and his family members and they had to beat a hasty retreat in the by-elections.

“TRS is also resorting to the same tactics and the result will be the same.TRS is not the sole custodian of Telangana cause and protagonists of the region are in all parties. Rubbing shoulders with Congress, which has been dilly-dallying with the statehood issue, shows the sincerity of the TRS”, he said.

The letter is only to safeguard its cadre and leaders from exodus and is a vain bid to proclaim itself as the crusader of Telangana cause, he said.

Though K Chandrasekhar Rao had said that his children were settled and he will devote himself totally for the Telangana cause, the heir apparent has surfaced to continue the dynasty rule, he said adding that people lost faith in TRS and its rhetoric of bring the only Party that can bring a separate state.

The assembly conversation between YSR and E Rajendra has been distorted with ulterior motives and the letter and its tone suggests that TRS is scared and is losing ground in the region, he said.
