Bjp senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that the people of the country were fed up with the anti-people policies of the Congress party.
Talking to media persons at NKM Gardens, Naidu attributed the victory of Bjp in the Delhi and Mumbai Corporation elections to a country-wide wave against the Congress party. He said that rampant corruption, rising prices of essential commodities and anti-people policies of United Progressive Alliance-II Government were responsible for the Congress debacle in the elections.
In the local body elections, Venkaiah Naidu said that the people have rejected the Congress as only Bjp could provide stable and efficient administration. He hoped that the Bjp would repeat the same performance in the ensuing elections and give a tough fight to ruling Congress party.
Stating that the Prime minister Dr Manmohan singh has become ‘mute spectator’ and not responding on people’s issues, he said that the time has come for the people of the country to reject the Congress in the elections. He alleged that the UPA-II government has totally failed on all fronts and corruption has increased manifold during its regime.
Rejecting the media reports that there were better prospects for the formation of Third Front as an alternative in the country, he said that the Bjp would give tough fight to Third Front allies in the States in the ensuing general elections.
The Bjp leader also came down heavily on the State Government for its failure to implement the recommendations of Swamynathan Committee to upgrade the lives of farmers. He said that the government would face people’s wrath for showing discrimination towards non-Congress ruled States in releasing funds.
