Book Naidu for attack on farmers: Kodandaram

Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Saturday condemned the attack on farmers by Telugu Desam activists during the Rythu Porubata in Adilabad district.

Talking to media persons at JAC Office, Kodandaram demanded that the police book a case against Naidu for instigating his activists to attack distressed farmers for obstructing his Porubata programme.  He said that Naidu has no moral right to take up Porubata in Telangana districts without making his party stand clear on the statehood issue.

“We don’t want his routine statement that he was not opposed to Telangana state formation. We want a clear statement that he was in favour of a separate Telangana state,” he said.

Kodandaram said that the JAC would intensify its agitation against the government for booking false cases against the Telangana employees and harassing them to weaken the agitation. He alleged that the police have booked 220 cases against Singareni employees for participating in the general strike. He warned the government of serious consequences if it fails to withdraw all the cases.

The JAC chairman also called upon the people to observe December 23 as `Betrayal Day‘ and organize rallies and dharnas across Telangana region to protest against the Centre reversing its decision on Telangana. He said the JAC members would burn the effigies of the Union Government on `Betrayal Day’.
