SPB romanticism with Homely Aunty

SP Balasubramaniam is one of the legendary personalities in entire Indian film industry. This versatile artist having turned to an actor long ago portrayed a character of definite strength in the yesterday released ‘Devsthanam’ directed by Janardhana Maharshi. In the film, SPB plays a middle class, orthodox common man living happily with his beautiful wife Aamani. In order to give an authentic feel to characterizations, the director has some times gone overboard in dealing the romantic wife-husband relation between the above two.

There are plenty of scenes where in SPB hugs Aamani, kisses her on waist, cuddles very frequently and even in a scene SPB makes Aamani wear a sari. Well, for others it might look a bit of overdosed but these may be the ways of Janardhana Mahrshi’s to express the affectionate bonding. However, all these acts get a solid justification with one climax scene. Thanks to Aamani's delightful perfomrance as a Homely Aunty.
