Manchu Lakshmi on hitting a man. Actor Lakshmi Manchu has responded to a viral video where she reacted strongly to a man interrupting her interview by walking in front of the camera. She stands by her actions, asserting that the man deserved the response.
Manchu explained, "That person very well knew that I was on a red carpet. It was not some random person taking a video. But he was so nonchalant, and just walked through the camera. I am an actor, you don’t come in front of my camera. Never do that with any artiste. He rightly got what he deserved. These are basic manners that people don’t have. I slapped him and he deserved it. I didn’t go out of my way. He came into my world."
The 45-year-old, who recently witnessed the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the new Parliament building in Delhi, criticized the lack of basic manners and awareness of one's surroundings in people.In the viral video, Manchu is seen speaking to an interviewer on the red carpet of the SIIMA awards in Abu Dhabi. When a man interrupted her interview, she expressed her frustration by hitting him and reminding him of basic etiquette.
Manchu was aware that the host asked the cameraperson not to record it, but she didn't mind it getting out. She emphasized her ability to protect herself and her willingness to be unapologetically authentic. She concluded by saying, "I’m just here to live my life in an unapologetically and authentic way."
