Nandamuri Kalyanram is known for his knack for selecting unique scripts right from the beginning of his career and is bringing another interesting film. The film titled Devil is a period film set in ore independent era. He will be seen in the role of a British Secret Agent.
This movie with the backdrop of 1940 has been made with a huge budget bankrolled by Abhishek Nama. For the Devil movie, More than 80 sets have been built. 90 percent of the film was shot in sets and it took one and a half years to build all these sets. Art director Gandhi looked after all the set work that resembles the 1940's.
As the film falls under the period drama genre, the team procured all the materials and props from various places like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kolkata, Kerala, and Rajasthan to give it an authentic look. Some of the pics were out and it looks like the team did a splendid job in recreating pre independent era.
These sets include a 1940 Andhra club set in Madras, vintage cycles and vintage cars during the British era, a 1940 cargo ship set, and a 36 ft lighthouse set among others. Samyuktha Menon will be seen as the leading lady while Naveen Medaram is directing this film. Devil is gearing up to release in November.
