“What is wrong in having two states where Telugu is spoken when there are as many as ten states in the country where Hindi is spoken,” said Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday, in an obvious hint that he has no objections to the formation of Telangana. Mr Satyanarayana’s words, which he emphasized were his ‘personal opinion’ will come as a major boost to the Congress leaders from Telangana who are under pressure from the separate state protagonists. Talking to media persons at a ‘Meet the Press’ programme at Basheer Bagh Press Club, organized by AP Working Journalists Union, Mr Satyanarayana expressed the hope that the High Command will find an early solution to the contentious issue. He pointed out that when the Centre was ready to announce a decision on Telangana, the Opposition parties in the state did a U-turn and opposed the formation of a separate state by launching surprise agitations in Seemandhra regions.
