Senior Congress leader and former MP G Venkataswamy was on Thursday discharged from the Care Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment after suffering a stroke on May 20.

Doctors said that following improvement in the senior politician’s health, they were discharging him. “All his vital organs are working satisfactorily, the Care Hospital doctors said.

Mr Venkataswamy, better known as Kaka, was first admitted to the Yashoda hospital on May 20 following complaints of breathing problem and high blood pressure. Later, the doctors shifted him to the Care Hospital for higher treatment.

His son G Vivek had said that the veteran leader had been the patient of Care Hospital doctors for many years and thus was more comfortable there.

The doctors implanted pacemakers in the heart to improve his heartbeat and put him on ventilator for some days.
