Mega Star Chiranjeevi got a huge shock in the form of Acharya. The film failed to fire at the box office and much to the disappointment of all, its business ended in just three days. Many rumors spread that Chiranjeevi interfered in the story narrated by Koratala Shiva and suggested many changes. Inside talk is Chiranjeevi was behind turning Siddha's character into a full-length role to cast his son Ram Charan much against the wishes of Koratala Shiva. Koratala himself revealed that he did not direct the film. But Chiranjeevi is known for his skills to judge a project and story once he hearts it.

Chiranjeevi on return scored a hit with Khaidi No 150 and realized his dream with Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy. His dream to star in a full-length role alongside his son Ram Charan turned out to be a disaster with Acharya. However, Chiranjeevi has many interesting projects like Godfather, Bhola Shankar both of which are remakes and projects with Bobby and Venky Kudumula. Many say Chiranjeevi shouldn't be like Rajinikanth.

It is known that Rajinikanth enjoys a huge fan following and cult image across the world. But he has been reeling under the string of flops though he is teaming with young directors. There is an accusation that the young directors are failing to elevate Rajinikanth's heroism to another level. Some say Rajini at times is suggesting changes and insisting on them while at times he is giving them a free hand.

However, going to both extremes could be dangerous. While giving a completely free hand to the young directors may backfire due to their inexperience and too much involvement will put immense pressure on them. It has to be seen how Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth handle the double-edged sword.
