Great Vengeance: YCP Sacks AP EC!

If the ongoing reports from media circles are to be believed, the AP State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has been sacked by the YSRCP government through an ordinance approved by the state's governor Biswabhushan Harichandan. 

In the wake of spread of coronavirus in India, the EC had deferred the local body polls by six weeks which was felt a unilateral decision by the ruling YSRCP. Also, the EC's recommendation on transfer of a collector and an SP and disciplinary actions on some police officials made the YSRCP irritated. 

The CM, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, himself, alleged that the EC belonged to particular caste of TDP's top brasses and that's why he favoured the TDP on the caste factors. 

The TDP's chief Chandrababu Naidu, however, expressed his anguish on the the removal of the SEC. He said the backdoor ordinance brought by the YSRCP is against the constitution.
