Summer Holidays (2026) Movie: What's Behind

Rohan and Arun's Summer Holidays, directed by Srikar Nayan G, hit the screens on November 6, 2026. The film promises to take audiences back to the carefree days of summer vacations. Does it manage to recreate that nostalgia? Let's find out.

Summer Holidays (2026) Movie: Story Review

Summer Holidays revolves around a young boy who faces constant pressure from his parents to score good marks and secure top ranks, often at the cost of his own interests.

RV (Arun Dev), who studies in the city, is regularly pushed by his father (Harshavardhan) to focus on academics. Things take a different turn when he visits his grandmother's (Jayasudha) home during the summer holidays along with his mother (Vasuki). There, he meets a young boy, KV (Rohan Rai).

How this friendship changes RV's outlook and what roles KV's mother (Varshini), Varma (Rajeev Kanakala) and Sumathi (Baby Khushi) play in the story form the rest of the narrative.

Summer Holidays (2026) Movie: Artists' Performances

The film largely rests on the shoulders of Rohan Rai and Arun Dev, and both make a good impression. They bring innocence and natural expressions to their characters, handling the emotional and humorous moments convincingly.

Baby Khushi and the other child actors add to the film's entertainment value. Jayasudha is effective as the grandmother, while Vasuki Anand and Harshavardhan do well as RV's parents. Rajeev Kanakala stands out with a strong performance.

Summer Holidays (2026) Movie: Technical Aspects

Srikar Nayan G builds the story around childhood friendships, summer holidays and the simple joys of village life. The film brings back memories of carefree vacations spent playing with friends and enjoying time away from school. It also underlines the importance of friendship, hard work and finding happiness beyond academic marks.

The film begins with the conflict between a father and son before moving into the village setting. The narrative picks up pace as RV meets KV, and the emotional interval sequence sets up the second half well.

However, the proceedings become predictable after the interval. Though the emotional moments, both happy and sad, have their share of impact, the screenplay follows familiar lines. The climax provides some emotional satisfaction, but the film could have made a stronger impression with tighter writing.

Sai Prakash Ummadisingu's cinematography captures the village atmosphere beautifully. Sinjith Yerramilli's songs are pleasant and have been picturised well. Santosh Naidu's editing is decent, though a few portions could have been trimmed. The production values are good.

Summer Holidays Movie: Advantages

  • Village backdrop
  • Performances
  • Emotions and humour

Summer Holidays Movie: Disadvantages

  • Predictable story
  • Convenient screenplay
  • Flat narration

Summer Holidays (2026) Movie: Rating Analysis

Summer Holidays is a feel-good entertainer that banks on nostalgia, childhood memories and emotions. Debutant director Srikar Nayan G handles the central idea with clarity and conviction. The producers deserve appreciation for backing a story that focuses on simple human emotions rather than relying on violence and commercial gimmicks.

However, the film's impact is limited by its flat narration and convenient screenplay. A tighter script, a more engaging pace and fewer predictable moments could have made it a better experience. Despite its pleasant moments, the film leaves the feeling that something is missing.

Considering its strengths and shortcomings, Cinejosh rates Summer Holidays 2.5/5.
