One shouldn't make the mistake of looking down small films. 2019 witnessed many small films turning out to be hit taking everyone by surprise. In fact, small to medium range films with unique concepts stunned all with their novel storylines.

Brochevarevaruraa, Oh Baby, Agent Sai Srinivas Atreya, Yevaru, Jersey, Majili are some of the few films which did well at the box office. Sai Dharam Tej became Sai Tej to score a hit with Chitralahari and he went on to say that his second innings started with Chitrahalarhi. Director Kishore Tirumala showed how a youngster who gets affected with failures in life attained success in an entertaining manner.

Majili is all about a middle-class youngster who neglects the girl whom he was forced to marry and spends most of the time savoring the memories of his lover with whom he broke. Viewers got a new feel with the makers adding a cricket backdrop to it. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha starring as husband and wife got a new craze to the film.

Nani's Jersey too had cricket backdrop and it turned out to be a youthful entertainer. More than cricket, emotions spellbound viewers. The story got a family touch with a veteran cricketer entering the field once again for his son.

Tollywood witnessed many crime comedies but Brochevarevarura and Agent Sai Srinivas Atreya made a strong impact on viewers. Though both are from the same genre, the storyline and narration set them apart.

While Agent Sai Srinivas Atreya with Ongole James Bond Story attracted viewers in the lines similar to Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Chantabbai, the twists in the story kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

Brochevarevarura too is a smile kidnap story but the screenplay and narration looked novel. Adavi Sesh's Yevaru is a different thriller. The film revolves around a murder and the climax twists took the film to another level.

Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas' Rakshasudu, a remake of Tamil hit Rakshasan appealed to viewers. Kalyan Ram attracted with 118 and Nikhil's Arjun Suravaram somehow engaged with its twists. Sundeep Kishan turned producer with thriller Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene.

Samantha's Oh Baby, a remake of Korean hit Miss Granny, attracted viewers with the surprise elements and emotions. Varun Tej too with Gaddalakonda Ganesh, a remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda, appealed to one and all.

These films proved that with good planning, novel ideas one can score hits. However, the hit numbers should increase as 80% of the films in the industry are small films and the industry's future depends on them.
