Having got nonplussed facing the ire of common people across India post the Demonetization of high notes, some of the officials and activists of the BJP started spreading some sops in social media to be implemented by the Modi's government from 1st of January, 2017. Unfortunately, a complete reversal of situation is being faced by the people right now. Checkout the following.
* Petrol and diesel prices were publicized to come down to Rs.35 and Rs.28 respectively. On the contrary, the prices were increased to some extent.
* Gas prices were also expected to fall down to Rs.218 while dals' were predicted to be priced at below Rs.50 per kilogram. Train, bus and air ticket prices were expected to cut down by 30%. Unfortunately, no such changes in the prices were noticed.
* No Income tax was thought to be levied upto Rs.4 lakhs. But then, no such benefit was offered by the government. It was also anticipated that Income Tax system would be abolished and 'Banking Transaction Tax' would replace it. But then, the government forgot all these statements.
* Interesting observation is that the BJP's heads like PM Modi and Amit Shah aren't speaking single word about Demonetization and its advantages during their election campaigns at UP and Punjab. Observers say, the BJP got threatened by the people if they would recall the difficulties faced by them outside ATM queues with Demonetization.
