'Yevadu' Benefiting at the Cost of '1'

Being the Pongal festive season, any average film will also do hit movie business. Such is the grace of this lucky period. Every year we witness at least three to six big movies hitting the screens for Sankranti. However, this year of 2014 provided vacant ground for just Mahesh Babu ‘1 Nenokkadine’ and Ramcharan ‘Yevadu’ to battle against each other. While Mahesh Babu’s craze is running high, Ramcharan is like a dormant volcano after the dud ‘Zanjeer.’

Film analysts are opining that, less hype and immunity of ‘Yevadu’ might help the film in one aspect. As audiences enter into theaters with low or no expectations, even an average fare of ‘Yevadu’ will take it to hit shores. On the opposite side, Mahesh and Sukumar will have to swim against the tide of ‘1’ hype to satisfy the audience. Only a hit response can do the wonders for Mahesh. So, the suppressed excitement around ‘Yevadu’ might benefit the film.
