When asked if she harbored ambitions of leading the nation one day, Kangana responded with her trademark wit, jesting about her portrayal of India’s Prime Minister in her upcoming film, "Emergency." Directed and produced by Kangana herself, "Emergency" casts her in the pivotal role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The film delves into the tumultuous life of the late Prime Minister, marking Kangana's directorial debut. With "Emergency," Kangana ventures into uncharted territory, showcasing her versatility both on and off the screen.

While Kangana has previously stated that she is not inherently inclined towards politics, her recent remarks hint at a potential shift in perspective. In February 2023, she asserted her stance, stating, "I am a sensitive and sensible person, not a political person. I was asked to join politics many times, I didn’t."

However, in November 2023, Kangana hinted at a possible foray into the political arena, expressing her willingness to contest in elections. Responding to reporters' queries about her participation in the next Lok Sabha elections, Kangana remained open to the idea, stating, "Shri Krishna ki kripa rahi to ladenge (If Lord Krishna showers blessings, I will fight)."

Kangana Ranaut's journey continues to be marked by her boldness, determination, and unwavering spirit, both on screen and off. As she ventures into new realms, her words and actions resonate with a sense of dynamism and possibility, captivating audiences and leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of Indian cinema.
