Speaker nod for debate on Budget

Bowing to Opposition pressure, Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday allowed continuance of the debate on state budget in the Assembly.

The Speaker allowed the debate after consulting with the Legislative Affairs Committee and floor leaders post-tea break on Friday.

Earlier, the Opposition parties found fault with the decision to skip the discussion on state budget without debating it in the House.

The Opposition parties also stalled the proceedings and the Speaker adjourned the House for 15 minutes.

Chief Minister K Rosaiah also gave his reply on the State Budget in the Assembly in the evening.

This has been the first time in the history of the House when the Speaker permitted a debate on the state budget for a second time+.
