Ponguleti accuses KCR of exploiting T-sentiments

Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Tuesday alleged that TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao was avoiding his party's merger with the Congress to continue the exploitation of Telangana people.

Speaking to media persons here, Ponguleti alleged that KCR was following a hidden agenda. He said KCR wants to accomodate his family members on top positions in Telangana and for the same reasons, he went back on his promise of merging his party with the Congress. Accusing the TRS chief of exploiting the sentiments of people of Telangana, he said that KCR wants to continue the practice even after the formation of new State.

Ponguleti said that the Congress does not need the TRS, but it is the TRS that needs Congress party for its survival. However, he said that the Congress leaders would abide by the decision taken by Congress High Command on merger.

Speaking about the Centre's proposal to merge seven mandals of Khammam into Seemandhra, he said that irrespective of party affiliations all elected representatives of Khammam district have opposed the move. However, he questioned the silence of KCR on the issue and said that he did not raise the issue in Parliament when the Telangana Bill was introduced.

Regarding the Odarpu Yatra of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy in Telangana districts, Ponguleti said that everyone has a right to campaign anywhere in the country. However, he said that present situation was not favourable for any anti-Telangana party in the region and therefore, they should restrain from carrying out any campaign.
