Giving clear indications that his party would not merge with the Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced that the TRS would play a major role in re-building the new State of Telangana.

Kcr said that the role of TRS has not finished with the mere formation of Telangana. He said now that major task would be to re-construct Telangana with the same dedication which was exhibited during the statehood movement. He appealed to all the political parties and leaders to extend cooperation in ensuring overall development of Telangana State.

The TRS chief was speaking after admitting the TDP MLAs K S Ratnam and Maheedhar Reddy and MLC Narendar Reddy into the party fold at Telangana Bhavan here. He also listed out the problems being faced by the people in Telangana region. He said special attention needs to be paid to resolve problems pertaining to healthcare, unemployment, education, housing and other issues concerning the people. 

Kcr assured that the unemployment would be totally eradicated from Telangana in the next few years. He said a comprehensive plan would be set in motion to provide employment to both, educated and uneducated youth. He said the youth have participated in the statehood agitation with the confidence that they would get appropriate jobs after the bifurcation and their hopes should be fulfilled.

Speaking about housing, Kcr said that the previous governments have constructed congested houses for the homeless poor. He announced that the new Telangana Government would construct double bedroom houses spread across 125 sq yards with all amenities.

Kcr also promised State-of-the-school buildings across Telangana which would provide free education with Central syllabus. Further, there would be no caste-based hostels in the new State. He also promised 12 per cent quota to tribals while assuring that the tribal hamlets would be converted into Gram Panchayats.

The TRS chief also promised that the advanced healthcare would be made accessible to all citizens in Telangana. He said that District Hospitals would be upgraded on par with Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences. Further, PHCs and Area Hospitals would be set up in every mandal and Taluqa respectively.

Kcr also stressed the need to improve irrigation facilities in the entire Telangana State. He said all Assembly constituencies, other than those in cities and towns, should have irrigation facilities to cater to one lakh acres of land.
