Former minsiter Anam Ramnarayana Reddy on Friday called upon the Congress leaders from Seemandhra region to strengthen the Congress party in their areas.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Anam said that when the Congress was in power and in good shape, several leaders enjoyed the posts and other benefits. However, some leaders have started leaving the party when it fell into crisis. Admitting that the Congress was in bad shape in Seemandhra region, he appealed to the leaders to render their services at these times of crisis. In an indirect reference to former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, he said some leaders, who were associated with Congress for three generations, left it when it fell in crisis.
Anam said that the location for the new capital for residual State of Andhra Pradesh would be finalised after holding consultations with all leaders. He admitted that the Seemandhra leaders have failed to keep the State united. However, he said that the Seemandhra leaders would now focus their attention on development of their own State and would try to leave Hyderabad before the end of 10 year period for the common capital.
Former minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy was also present.
