TRS MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Friday appealed to Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar to exercise his special powers to ensure debate on Telangana Bill in the Legislative Assembly.

Speaking to media persons at Assembly's media point here, Pocharam said that there were high hopes that the Assembly would begin the debate on Telangana Bill on Friday. However, he said that the Seemandhra legislators stalled the proceedings while not allowing the House to function. He demanded that the those disrupting the House should be suspended from the House.

Pocharam also said that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu supported the Telangana demand in 2009 and similarly, the YSR Congress Party was in favour of Telangana under Article 3 of the Constitution. However, both took a U-turn later and complicated the situation. He said that the Seemandhra legislators should express their views by participating in the debate on Telangana Bill and not by stalling the proceedings of the House.
