Government Whip in State Legislative Council Rudraraju Padmaraju on Tuesday claimed that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was trying to duplicate the welfare schemes being implemented by the Congress Government.
Talking to reporters at Assembly's media point, Padmaraju asked as to why Naidu did not implement the welfare schemes while he was in power for almost nine years. He asked the TDP chief to explain the reasons that provoked him to realise the need for taking measures for the betterment of poor and backward classes.
Ridiculing Naidu's promises, Padmaraju said that it was Naidu, who as the Chief Minister, claimed that free power to farmers was not possible. However, the Congress party successfully implemented the free-power scheme. Instead of admitting his failure, Naidu is now making promises based on the successful welfare schemes of the Congress Government in the State.
The Government Whip also asked Naidu to clarify whether the announcements of giving reservation of seats to Backward Classes and Minorities were taken collectively by the party or they were his individual decisions.
