Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Thursday dismissed reports that the government colluded with some media houses to take revenge on Sakshi newspaper and TV channel.

Talking to media persons while participating in by-election campaign in Nellore district, Botsa Satyanarayana claimed that the government has no role in the freezing of bank accounts of Sakshi newspaper and TV channel by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The PCC chief said that the law would take its own course into the investigation of disproportionate assets case against Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy. Stating that the CBI was yet to submit a comprehensive report to the court over the flow of investments in the Jagathi Publications Limited and individuals behind the investments, he said that the investigation agency was doing its duty following directions from the High Court.

Botsa alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s greed for power has caused by-elections in the 18 Assembly constituencies in the State. He appealed to party rank and file to expose Jagan in the by-elections and explain the reasons for cause of elections and seek votes on that basis.

He hoped that the people would teach them a fitting lesson to Jagan group in the electoral battle and give verdict in the favour of the Congress party.
