Telugu Desam MLA B Durga Prasad on Wednesday appealed to the State Government to provide job security to the employees working in the Jagathi Publications Limited, whose accounts have been seized by the CBI as part of investigation into the disproportionate assets case of Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Durga Prasad said that the government should consider providing job security to employees and journalists working in Sakshi Group on the lines of software firm Satyam. He said that the freedom of press should be protected at the time of crisis. He appealed to the management of Sakshi not to press panic button and confuse the employees and affect their morale.
Durga Prasad said that the management should not pressurise the employees to stage dharnas and protests against the government. "These types of pressure tactics would not yield and further damage the image of Sakshi paper," he said.
He asked as to why the CBI did not arrest Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy despite submitting three charge sheets in the court naming him as number one accused in the assets case.
