Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday came down heavily on YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy for allegedly violating norms at places of worship.
Participating in a road show organized as part of by-election campaign in Tirupati assembly constituency, Naidu took serious objection over Jagan Mohan Reddy for not signing the declaration of religious faith meant for non-Hindu devotees during his recent visit to Lord Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala. By declining to sign the declaration of faith, he said that Jagan Mohan Reddy has proved that he has no faith in Lord Venkateswara and violated the established traditions and customs of Hindu temples.
Naidu demanded the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board to order probe into entire issue and initiate suitable action on violators as per the Hindu Law.
The TDP president alleged that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Jagan Mohan Reddy have patronised criminals like Bhanu Kiran and Mangali Krishna and engaged in unlimited corrupt deeds which were now exposed as scandals of huge proportions.
Stating that the Congress party has become a focal point for liquor business, Naidu said that liquor shops have been set up using the benamis of white card ration card holders in blatant violation of Excise rules and regulations. Stating that liquor has been flowing freely during the Congress regime, Naidu demanded probe into the alleged nexus of Congress leaders with the liquor syndicate.
Naidu said that the Tirupati Assembly constituency was well developed during the TDP's regime. However, it lagged behind in development after K Chiranjeevi got elected from this constituency.
Earlier, about 500 followers of YSR Congress party led by Chandra were admitted into TDP in the presence of party president Chandrababau Naidu at a simple programme.
