Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday called upon the party rank and file to make all efforts to strengthen the party at the grass root level.
Talking to media persons after hoisting party flag to mark the completion of 127th formation day of Congress celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC chief lauded the services of party for the welfare of people, particularly the poor and middle class. He exhorted the workers to strengthen the party from village to mandal levels and support the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Botsa recalled that the Congress party has introduced many schemes and welfare programmes for the benefit of reserved class people. Though many parties sprouted to wipe out Congress, the people voted for it and gave power to rule the country and the State.
Earlier, speaking as the chief guest Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the party would reward genuine workers with posts if they work sincerely for strengthening the party. “We are enjoying posts and power due to the efforts of grassroots level workers," he said and added that party tickets would be given to genuine workers in recognition of their services.
The Chief Minister appealed to all workers to support Sonia Gandhi’s leadership and strengthen the party at every nook and corner of the State.
Several veteran leaders were also felicitated on the occasion. Ministers D Sridhar Babu, Basavaraj Saraiah, S Sailajanath and others leaders participated in the programme.
