In a bid to keep the pot boiling, Trs President K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday announced that he would again go on an indefinite hunger strike for achieving Telangana.

“I will observe fast during the ensuing budget session of Parliament,” he told reporters after releasing a calendar of Telangana Lecturers Forum at Telangana Bhavan. If the government fails to announce a decision on Telangana, the wedge between the regions will increase, the TRS supremo predicted.

At least now, the government should initiate efforts towards creation of separate state to prevent further damage and growing rift between people of the two regions, he said.

Much time was given to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to take a favorable decision on Telangana but “they should not test the patience of people by delaying decision further,” he said. He warned the government that the TRS would intensify its agitation for statehood in a phased manner after Sankranthi.

“The separate statehood issue went to backburner due to drama played by the Congress and TDP,” he stated. Barring Samajwadi Party, all other parties are for creation of Telangana, he said.

Telangana Congress MLAs have lost a good opportunity during the no confidence motion against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

If they have utilized the opportunity properly, the separate Telangana state might have been materialized, he said.
