Legislative Council Whip Y Shivaram Reddy on Tuesday stated that the Congress party would initiate disciplinary action against four MLCs for indulging in anti-party activities.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Shivaram Reddy said the four Congress members in the council - Pulla Padmavathi, Konda Murali, S V Mohan Reddy and Jupudi Prabhakar were resorting to anti-party activities over the past two years despite repeated warnings. He said that the party took a serious decision to move disqualification petition before the Council Chairman A Chakrapani against Pulla Padmavathi, Konda Murali and S V Mohan Reddy.
However, in the case of Jupudi Prabhakar, who was elected under Governor’s quota, the party would consult legal experts before moving disqualification petition due to some technical reasons.
Another MLA Veera Sivareddy stated that 16 MLAs have become scapegoats in the No Confidence Motion moved by the conspiracy of the Telugu Desam Party in connivance with the YSR Congress party. He said the hopes of both TDP and YSR Congress party collapsed after the motion was defeated in the assembly.
Sivareddy said that the Congress party would take the by-elections in the 16 assembly segments as challenge and make collective efforts for winning all seats. “It is the collective responsibility of all Congress leaders to defeat the YSR candidates in the by-elections,” he stated. MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy also spoke.
