Congress rewarding tainted with plum posts: TDP

Senior Telugu Desam Party leader Kala Venkat Rao on Friday ‘wondered’ over the rationale behind the Congress party’s ‘rewarding’ corrupt persons with plum posts.

Mr Venkat Rao told media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan that it was confounding that the Congress appointed Botsa Satyanarayana as the Pradesh Congress Committee president after giving him a clean chit while the representative of the Volkswagen company was languishing in Tihar Jail.

“It is shocking that while Mr Satyanarayana, against who allegations his involvement in the Volkswagen scam have been raised, has been rewarded and made a Minister as well as the Pradesh Congress Committee president,” the TDP leader said.

Mr Venkat Rao further sought an explanation from the Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the allegations of corruption leveled by Congress MP Harsha Kumar against Mr Satyanarayana.

Responding on YSR Congress Party leader Konathala Ramakrishna’s statement that Congress and TDP had ‘fixed the match’ as regards to the Local Body elections, Mr Venkat Rao said that Mr Ramakrishna was making baseless allegations since he has had lost his mental balance.

He further said that the Jagan group has a `match fixing’ fixation about the Congress and the TDP. They can only think of match fixing and hence the allegations, he stated.
