The Ysr Congress Party on Tuesday alleged that the Telugu Desam Party’s ‘failure’ to push the No Confidence Motion was evidence that it was only concerned about getting political mileage on the farmers’ issues and was keen to ensure that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy continues in Office. Ysr Congress Party’s official spokesman Gattu Ramachandra Rao told media persons at the Sagar Society that Mr Chandrababu Naidu had only given notice of the No Confidence Motion to project himself as being concerned about the farmers’ welfare. “The fact is that Mr Chandrababu Naidu wants the Congress to continue in power till 2014. He is using the farmers’ problems to derive political mileage,” Mr Ramachandra Rao said. Letting the scribes know of his suspicions about Mr Naidu’s commitment towards farmers, the Ysr Congress Party spokesperson said that the TDP chief was building an image of pro-farmer leader in the name of introducing the No Confidence Motion. He further alleged that Mr Naidu had cheated the people by conspiring with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Demanding an apology from Mr Naidu for cheating the people, particularly the farmers, on the issue of No Trust Motion, Mr Ramachandra Rao stated that the TDP chief has lost confidence and no one would believe him for his ambivalent attitude. “To hide his failure in pushing the No Trust Motion, he is trying to corner the Ysr Congress Party and pinning the blame for the fiasco on us,” Mr Ramachandra Rao said.
