Charmee Kaur who after attaining stardom as the top actress in Tollywood shifted to production is now awaiting the release of her production venture's prestigious film Liger. The film co-produced and directed by Puri Jagannath is slated for a grand release on August 25, 2022 and is carrying sky-rocketing expectations.
In the meantime, Charmee speaking to scribes, burst out inconsolably and tears ran down her cheeks. She recollected her Liger journey. She said ' I and Puri Jagannath went to Vijay Devarakonda to narrate the story in 2019. He got super excited and expressed his desire to kickstart the project at once. But after the 45-day first schedule in 2020, we faced the first lockdown in March due to covid. During that time, Vijay Devarakonda called and shouted when will the shoot resume as it was difficult for him to maintain the same physique. Vijay worked hard to maintain the physique for two years"
Charmee said ' Due to covid we faced financial crunch and at that time few spread negative vibes about the project. Due to tension, I used to cry a lot and when we ran out of money, we got a crazy offer from a top OTT. One should have guts to reject such a fancy deal but Puri rejected it. ". Charmee continued ' Pri Jagannath rejected it as he felt that people should watch the film in theatres and experience the power of Liger. Even when we planned to release the film with 50% occupancy in theatres we did not get the theatres. Finally the film is seeing the arc lights on August 25'
