Get 'Dirty' on TV only after 11 PM

The scheduled telecast of ‘The Dirty Picture’ yesterday on Sony TV in regular hours has been halted by Information & Broadcasting Ministry. They have issued a directive not to screen this Vidya Balan’s explicit adult contented film during day time or evening. Right time would be only late night after 11 PM. This made channel management to stop the screening of ‘The Dirty Picture’ which was earlier scheduled on 12 PM and 8 PM slots yesterday.

Film is originally certified only for Adults and Censor Board went through 59 cuts to give U/A certificate for screening on television. Central Board of Film Certification strictly advised that ‘The Dirty Picture’ to be shown in late nights when children either go for sleep or parents can suitably guide their children keeping away from TV sets. 

Tusshar Kapoor, who acted in this film tweeted, ‘In light of recent events that exposed the dark side of Bollywood, The Dirty Picture was well timed as it depicts a similar harsh reality! Sad that inspite of being acclaimed for it’s entertaining realism and having won 3 National Awards the regulatory forces have stalled the show.’
