Karthi, who has two releases, Meiyazhagan and Vaa Vaathiyaar, lined up for this year, has revealed plans about filming sequels to PS Mithran's Sardar and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi. The actor attended a function thanking donors who donated blood for patients on behalf of his fan's club, Akila India Karthi Makkal Nala Mandram.
During his speech, Karthi said he is ready to begin filming Sardar 2, and jokingly said he will again be seen holding a biriyani bucket as he will team up Lokesh for Kaithi 2. He was alluding to the famous scene in the first part where his character Dilli is seen relishing a meal of biriyani after a long imprisonment.
His Vaa Vaathiyaar also stars Krithi Shetty as the female lead and has Sathyaraj and Rajkiran in prominent roles. According to reports, the film revolves around a fanatic fan of legendary actor MGR who raises his grandson like a reincarnation of MGR.
Karthi was last seen in Raju Murugan's Japan. On the other hand, Karthi's 27th film's title was announced as Meiyazhagan, which is being produced by Suriya and Jyotika's 2D Productions. Directed by C Prem Kumar of 96-Fame, the film stars Sri Divya as the female lead. The cast also includes Arvind Swamy, Saran Shakthi, and Rajkiran in prominent roles.
