Falaknuma Das, directed by and starring Vishwak Sen, brought him to the limelight. The movie was a major success, and three years ago, Vishwak Sen announced the sequel to the movie. Despite the announcement, there have not been many updates since then. However, while promoting his latest movie, Gangs of Godavari, Vishwak Sen revealed an interesting detail about Falaknuma Das 2.
During an interview, Vishwak Sen said that people used to make fun of his Hyderabadi Hindi while he was learning acting in a Bombay-based acting school. He then revealed that he decided to shoot Falaknuma Das 2 separately in Hindi and Telugu, both set against the backdrop of Hyderabad, with a Hyderabadi hero speaking proper Hyderabadi Hindi slang.
The actor-filmmaker believes that there has not been a Hindi film that has showcased the proper Hyderabadi Hindi guy, despite the trend of using slang from other parts of India. Vishwak Sen also stated that it would be impossible for someone from Bombay to learn Hyderabadi Hindi, and that the slang could only be correctly spoken by someone who grew up in Hyderabad.
This new insight into Falaknuma Das 2 seems exciting, and it will be interesting to see how Vishwak Sen executes this idea on the big screen.
