Karthi Latest Titled Meiyazhagan

Karthi who has faced a failure with Japan last year is coming with two projects. Title and first look of one of them is announced on the eve of his birthday. His 27th film is titled Meiyazhagan. The actor took to X to announce the title with a first-look poster that features him at the back of a bicycle with Arvind Swamy and an outline of Brihadisvara Temple in Thanjavur in the background. 

Written and directed by C Prem Kumar of 96 and Jaanu fame, the film stars Sri Divya as its female lead, as well as Saran Shakthi and Rajkiran in important roles. Plot details are under wraps, but the poster suggests that it is about two brothers.

Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under their 2D Entertainment banner, Meiyazhagan was shot in and around Kumbakonam and Karaikudi. Production on the film was wrapped this February. It has cinematography by Mahendran Jayaraju, music by Govind Vasantha, and editing by R Govindraj.

Karthi was last seen in 2023's Japan, and his upcoming projects also include Vaa Vaathiyaare directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. Karthi has also 'Sardar 2' and 'Kaithi 2' in the pipeline. On the other hand, Arvind Swamy last appeared in Singapore Saloon.
