Ranveer Singh Don 3 postponed. Farhan Akhtar created a buzz when he announced that Ranveer Singh would replace Shah Rukh Khan in the third installment of Don 3. The thriller, penned by Farhan Akhtar along with Pushkar-Gayatri of Vikram Vedha and Suzhal-The Vortex fame, promised an exciting twist to the franchise. Earlier, Kiara Advani was confirmed as the leading lady, and the movie was set to start filming in August. However, recent developments suggest a change in plans.

In a recent interview, Farhan revealed that he would begin shooting for a new film in July, where he plays the lead role, and wants to focus solely on that project. Details about this new film are currently scarce. Additionally, sources close to 'Don 3' revealed that the makers are struggling to finalize the antagonist. Although there were rumors of Emraan Hashmi being cast, the actor clarified on social media that these reports were untrue. The writers have returned to the drawing board to enhance the antagonist's role, adding more depth and appeal.

With these updates, it appears unlikely that shooting for 'Don 3' will begin in August. Moreover, with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone expecting their first child in September, the project is likely to be postponed to the end of 2024.

Farhan Akhtar, in a conversation with BBC, addressed his decision to cast Ranveer Singh, saying, "I am looking forward to getting it going. I mean, Ranveer is amazing, he is great for the part. He is also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous for the part that he will be filling some big shoes. We went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh Khan did it, and everyone was like, oh my god, how can you replace Mr. [Amitabh] Bachchan. You know, this whole thing happened then, and it is really about an actor coming in, owning a part, and giving it their style and their flair. And, he has that."
