The Maharashtra government has upgraded the actor's security to the Y+ category.According to information from the Maharashtra Police, Shah Rukh submitted a written complaint to the state government, alleging that he had been receiving death threats following the release of his films "Pathan" and "Jawan."
The Maharashtra State Intelligence Department (SID) issued instructions to all police commissionerates, district police, and special protection units (SPUs) in the state to immediately provide "Y+ security with an escort scale" to Khan. The official communication, dated October 5, cited recent "imminent and probable" threats to Shah Rukh as the reason for increasing his security.In the Y+ category, Shah Rukh will have 11 security personnel, including six commandos, four police personnel, and a traffic clearance vehicle. These security personnel will be stationed at Mannat, his residence in Mumbai.
This development follows earlier increases in security around Mannat due to protests against Shah Rukh Khan. In August, protests erupted against celebrities who endorsed online gaming apps, and in March of the same year, two individuals breached Mannat's premises by scaling the outer wall. The Mumbai Police had confirmed that security guards apprehended the intruders.
Shah Rukh Khan recently appeared in "Jawan," which has grossed over ₹1103.27 crore worldwide. Directed by Atlee, the film was released on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
