King Khan Shahrukh Khan's Jawan, amidst huge hype was released yesterday across the globe. The film directed by Atlee, got off to a flying start. Jawan became the biggest Hindi opener of all time. It also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in a special role. 

Jawan earned Rs 75 crore nett in India on its first day for all languages. The film earned Rs 65 crore nett in Hindi, Rs 5 crore nett in Tamil and Rs 5 crore nett in Telugu. With this Jawan has delivered the biggest single-day collection for a Hindi film, and has become the first Hindi film to make more than Rs 60 crore on opening day.

Pathaan made Rs 57 crore on opening, setting a new record earlier this year. But it made Rs 70 crore on day two, and ultimately finished its run with Rs 543 crore. Next stands Gadar 2, with around Rs 510 crore. By Sunday, trade will get an idea where Jawan will stand in its long-run. 

Jawan is made as an high-octane thriller, about a man set out to correct the irregularities in the society. The film touches upon issues like farmers suicides, pathetic situation of government hospitals, faulty army weapons and dangerous factories set near residential areas. Jawan is produced by produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma.
