Sathyaraj on Rajamouli, Baahubali. Sathyaraj in his second innings played an impactful roles in Tollywood and craved a niche for himself. None can forget his performance in Prabhas' starrer Mirchi. He attained national and international recognition with Rajamouli's Baahubali in which he played the role of Kattappa.

Sathyaraj speaking to scribes raved about Rajamouli and Baahubali and revealed how Baahubali happened. He said "At the outset, Rajamouli asked me whether I would accept a scene where Prabhas would place his foot on my head before beginning the story narration,"

He added "Probably, he wanted to make sure that I would not reject the story after a two-hour narration just because of this one scene," He said at that time he pointed that Sivaji Ganesan and Mohan Lal did such roles earlier. He shared "Mohan Lal licked the boots of a British officer in a hard-hitting film ‘Kaalapani’. I told him that I don’t mind doing it if the role justifies it since legends have enacted such scenes in the past. It is a different story that "Baahubali turned out to be a blockbuster and my role Katappa remained etched in the minds of people,"

Sathyaraj also starred in Prabhas' Radhe Shyam and more recently in Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya.
