Almost all industries got severely impacted due to coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown across the country. The film industry too has taken a massive hit and Tollywood is reeling under huge losses. For more than a month, theatres got closed and shootings got stalled.
Reports are coming that Government may not give green signals to open theatres as it may lead to the spread of coronavirus. Even if theatres start screening films, it is doubtful how many will come to watch them.
So the producers who lost their hope on film releases now are praying that it would be good at least if they get permissions from shooting. They say otherwise they will make huge losses and also lead to film workers left with on livelihood.
Inside talk is Tollywood delegation headed by Megastar Chiranjeevi is holding discussions with the officials in the Telangana government. They are requesting the government that irrespective of whether lockdown is lifted or not after May 3rd, few exemptions be given to the industry and if not the industry will plunge into financial crisis and result in huger deaths.
Sources say with the government facing a financial crunch, it may give some exemptions to a few industries and the film industry could be one of them. They feel that Tollywood may get permission for continuation of shootings if they take precautions like wearing masks and gloves and maintaining social distancing and using only as little crew members as possible.
