Do you know, Vijay Deverakonda was not the original choice for Puri Jagannadh’s first Pan India film tentatively titled Fighter? He penned the story for young tiger NTR. It is known that, Puri approached NTR with a story after their film Temper turned out to be a super hit. However, NTR rejected the film.
There were reports that, Puri lashed out at NTR for his stealing his idea. It is known that, NTR played a deadly character called Jai, a devotee of Ravana who stammers while citing a dialogue. The protagonist in Puri’s film also has stammering problem.
Later, Puri approached superstar Mahesh Babu with the same story. After listening various versions, Mahesh Babu too declined the project. Finally, the film went to Vijay Deverakonda who is pretty confident of impressing Telugu and north audience.
Vijay plays the role of a martial artist with stammer issue. Giving his best for the role and film, the young hero underwent rigorous training in martial arts and other forms of combat and underwent physical makeover as well.
Ananya Pandey plays Vijay Deverakonda’s love interest in the film that has backing of Bollywood ace filmmaker Karan Johar. Unlike his usual time, Puri is taking his own time in making the film.
But, the question here is can Vijay Deverakonda and Puri prove NTR and Mahesh Babu wrong by delivering a hit with the film?
