Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's latest entertainer 118 got good response from critics and audience alike. The film has done decent business at the box office on day one. The film's storyline of hero going back in dreams and retaining the incidents is interesting and novel, many feel that the makers drew inspiration from many Hollywood and few Tollywood films.
In 1991, Naresh-Sobhana's starrer Kokila revolved around Nresh losing his sight and when he gets sight through operation, he gets scared witnessing the murder of a swamiji. The film ends with a shocking twist. Though in 118, Kalyan Ram does not lose sight, he however has dreams of a murder.
118 has connection with even Rajendra Prasad's Chettu Kinda Pleader which released in 1988. Rajendra Prasad investigates the death of Sarath Babu and in the process every clue slips out of his hand.
Though director KV Guhan drew inspiration from both these Telugu films, he has succeeded to come up with an interesting thriller.
