Ramayana Team About AI Use Allegations

Director Nitesh Tiwari has cleared the air about artificial intelligence use in Ramayana after questions surfaced online. Speaking at the film’s world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre in Los Angeles, he said AI is being used only to adjust lip movements for different languages, not to create voices or replace dubbing artists.
Nitesh Tiwari explained that real artists have recorded the dialogues for the film’s different language versions. AI helps match the characters’ lip movements with the dubbed audio so viewers can enjoy the story in their own language. His statement followed producer Namit Malhotra’s comments about using Brahma AI to prepare international versions, which sparked debate among movie fans.
The Los Angeles premiere welcomed stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, along with filmmakers, Hollywood guests and international media. The screening highlighted the film’s ambition to bring the Indian epic to a global audience. Namit Malhotra said the event was about building credibility for Indian cinema on the world stage, rather than simply creating curiosity.
Ramayana is planned as a two part film based on the ancient Sanskrit epic. Part 1 is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, ahead of Diwali, while Part 2 is expected during Diwali 2027. The film is getting released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with IMAX screenings. AI use and the film’s visual effects remain topics of discussion among fans.
