Newspaper Apologies to Illairaja

It is a known news that a leading English daily published a controversial report on Padma Vibhushan award conferred to Maestro Ilayarana by the Government of India.The Newspaper humiliated Ilayaraja politicizing the award mentioning Ilayaraja's caste. 

Within no time after the Newspaper hit the markets, there had been huge protests against the Newspaper from the people. Eventually, the editor had to tender his apologies to Ilayaraja for publishing hatred news on him.

"We apologise for a headline in our edition, dated January 26, regarding music maestro, Mr Illairaja, being awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honour in the country. We wish to clarify that we did not mean to diminish his stature by any means. Mr Illairaja is universally acclaimed for his singular achievements in the field of music and the recognition given to him is entirely on this account and no other factor. We deeply regret the wrong message the headline has conveyed...Editor", the editor conveyed apologies.
